Build.
From day one.
A real Mastercard backed by a refundable deposit you choose. Every on-time payment builds your Schufa file — and most cardholders graduate to an unsecured card within 18 months, deposit returned in full.
Four steps to your card.
Deposit & issue
KYC and an income check. Choose a deposit between €500 and €5,000. Your card is issued by our licensed banking partner; CommonLend is the agent and distributor.
Spend & report
Use the card for everyday spending. Each on-time month is reported to build your credit file.
Behavioural review (month 12+)
On-time repayment unlocks an unsecured top-up on your existing line — no extra cash required.
Graduate (by month 18)
Most customers graduate to an unsecured card. Your full deposit is returned.
Schufa reporting on the Secured Card is mandatory and works both ways: on-time payments are reported positively, and missed payments are reported negatively. There is no opt-out.

No. Approval is based on your deposit and basic KYC/income checks — not a credit score.
It's held in a segregated account with our licensed banking partner, fully refundable, and covered by German deposit protection up to €100,000.
Yes — this is the whole point of the card. Every on-time payment is reported positively to build your file. If you miss a payment, that's reported too, so it's important to stay on top of repayments.
Nothing changes automatically — your card simply continues as a Secured Credit Card for as long as you'd like, with no deadline or penalty. You're always free to apply for the unsecured upgrade once you're ready, or close your account (see below).
Yes. Once your outstanding balance is zero, you can close your account at any time and your full deposit is returned.
